My Experience Teaching at Brandman

In the fall of 2013 and Spring of 2014, I taught two Statistics classes at Brandman University's Oak Harbor campus. I taught my classes in a classroom building on Whidbey Island's Naval Air Station base. My students were all Navy personnel stationed at the base. While teaching, I was frequently interrupted by the noise of the loud Navy jets landing or taking off nearby. Since I was teaching on a military base, I was required to show my credentials at the entrance gate. One evening. the man at the gate rejected my documents as insufficient and held me there. I had to phone our campus secretary to come to the gate and escort me to the classroom.
