Looking at Things Not Seen

LOOKING AT THINGS NOT SEEN

SOMETIMES THINGS DO NOT APPEAR AS THEY ARE

2 Cor 4:18 -  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.   NIV

Heb 11:7   By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household.  ESV

Gen 6:13-15 - And God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch. 15 And this is how you shall make it:  NKJV

Gen 6:17-19 -  I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. 18 But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark — you and your sons and your wife and your sons' wives with you. NIV

Gen 2:5-7  5 When no bush of the field was yet in the land and no small plant of the field had yet sprung up—for the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the land, and there was no man to work the ground, 6 and a mist was going up from the land and was watering the whole face of the ground—  ESV

Gen 6:22 - Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did. NKJV

  GOD SPOKE AND NOAH OBEYED

Gen 7:11-12 - 11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month — on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. 12 And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.  NIV

THE EARTH WAS SHAKEN

Gen 8:22 -  While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease."  ESV

NOAH DID NOT KNOW THE FUTURE;  HE JUST KNEW WHO HELD THE FUTURE

2 Kings 6:13-17

13 "Go, find out where he is," the king ordered, "so I can send men and capture him." The report came back: "He is in Dothan." 14 Then he sent horses and chariots and a strong force there. They went by night and surrounded the city. 15 When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. "Oh, my lord, what shall we do?" the servant asked.

16 "Don't be afraid," the prophet answered. "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them."

FOUR  THINGS WE LEARN FROM THIS PASSAGE:

2 Ki 6:9 – God protects His people

2 Ki 6:12 – The enemy is not smarter than God

2 Ki 6:15,16 – Don’t be afraid when it seems the enemy has the upper hand

2 Ki 6:17,18 – God answers prayer

Mark 11:22-25  - "Have faith in God," Jesus answered. 23 "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.  NIV

WEFC – We need to know:

That God holds our future.

We look at our future through the eyes of God

We pray, God answers

We follow God and we will succeed.

THIS WORKS ALSO ON A PERSONAL LEVEL
