“Fickle People; Faithful God”

1 Corinthians 10:1-14

 

Our Spiritual Heritage  (1Cor.10:1-4)

         Examples of benefits for ALL

                        Cloud of protection      Ex. 13:21-22

 

                        Crossing of Red Sea    Ex. 14:21-22

 

                        Provision of manna       Ex. 16:4-5

 

                        Provision of water        Ex. 17:5-6

 

Our Fickle Forefathers  (1Cor.10:5-11)

        Examples of failures of MOST

                        Worship of golden calf             Ex. 32:1-28

 

                        Immorality with Moabites         Num. 25:1-9

 

                        Challenge of authority              Num. 21:4-9

 

                        Grumbling at circumstances   Num 16:41-50

 

 

Our Need for Vigilance  (1Cor.10:12)

            “Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.”

 

 

Our Faithful God  (1Cor.10:13)

            “God....will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able,
but with the temptation will provide a way of escape.”

 

 

Our Constant Need  (1Cor.10:14)

            Every sin is a form of idolatry since it substitutes submission
to temptation for submissions to God.
